“I began as a watercolor painter. I loved the transparency and luminosity of watercolor and strive for that quality in my oil paintings. I’m not so concerned with delineating the details or exact colors of the subject as I am in creating a beautiful impression of it. “
Kathleen Broaderick is an artist based on the beautiful Emerald Coast of Florida. She started painting during her last semester at FSU when she filled an extra slot in her schedule with a watercolor class. She has been a student of art ever since. While living in England, Chicago and Stuart, FL she took art classes & workshops whenever she could. After moving to the Emerald Coast in 2000, she was introduced to oil painting. During this time, Kathleen was an art volunteer at Plew Elementary for 10 years while her sons attended the school. She then became certified to teach art and elementary education and taught kindergarten and art at Edge Elementary in Niceville.
Now, a full-time artist, she wakes up early to paint or walk on the beach for inspiration.
