Pat Doherty’s bright, playful work showcases whimsical still life objects, including food, drinks and floral arrangements, as the subject matter for her contemporary paintings. She is drawn to simple objects, most notably desserts. Establishing a harmonious color relationship between light and shadow, her focus is on color, texture, and graphic compositions that please the eye.
Pat has been fortunate to combine a professional career as a graphic designer with an avocation and passion for the arts. After graduating from Gonzaga University, her artistic evolution included art director at San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, art director at San Francisco magazine, senior art director at a design firm, and an independent freelance designer working with clients around the country.
Over the last decade, she has transitioned from the commercial arena into the fine arts. A third generation San Franciscan, Pat now resides in Marin County. People say her paintings make them smile, and she’s delighted they have that effect.
