Connecticut artist Sky Hoyt features the figure in meditative garden settings in many of her paintings. Use of color, pattern and organic shapes take the viewer some place between the real and abstract essence of a sometimes whimsical and magical place to escape and reflect.
Sky received her degree from Bennington College in 1990 and has studied in the masters’ program at Colorado State University, Ecole de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris, Instituto Allende in San Miguel, Mexico, The Art Student’s League and The National Academy of Design in New York and The Art Institute of Chicago’s Oxbow School in Michigan. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows in Connecticut, California, New Hampshire, Missouri, Colorado and Florida.
Sky has taught at the Mystic Arts Center, Mystic, Ct , and at the Norman Rockwell Museum.
